Explore the numbers, policies, sources, and open questions behind the campaign. These resources started as questions I wanted answered as a parent — I'm publishing what I learn so other families don't have to start from scratch.
Every explainer here follows the same rule: show the source, say what is still unknown, and separate what one board member can control from what depends on the full board, district staff, future budgets, or state decisions. The goal isn't to hand you a conclusion — it's to give you the tools to ask a better question at the next board meeting.
Everything on these pages is marked with one of three labels. They mean exactly what they say — including the uncomfortable ones.
Confirmed against a primary source you can open and check yourself.
Likely, but not yet confirmed. We say so until it is.
Genuinely unanswered. Knowing what we don't know is part of the point.
One more standard you'll notice across these pages: the word "will" is reserved for what Geetha can personally and directly control. Outcomes that depend on the full board, district staff, or future funding are described as what she would advocate for, prioritize, or evaluate — never as guarantees.

WCSD's adopted curriculum by subject, CAASPP results for every school vs. the state and nearby Contra Costa districts, pre-/post-pandemic trends, and a curriculum comparison with Lamorinda and aspirational Bay Area districts.
“Are our kids getting enough movement, support, and time away from screens?”
Would bring together verified indicators such as counselor and librarian staffing, movement and recess policies, screen-time guidance, and attendance — where datasets exist.
“Do children at every school have access to the same opportunities?”
An interactive cross-school comparison of staffing, programs, facilities, enrichment, and student support — built to make differences visible, not to assign blame.
“How do we teach kids to think for themselves when AI can give them an answer in seconds?”
No hype, no panic. What AI is, what parents should know, age-appropriate critical-thinking skills, and questions families can ask at home and at school.
“Are families leaving WCSD for private school, and what does the data actually show?”
Would bring together WCSD's own year-over-year enrollment history (from CDE DataQuest / the district's own budget and demographer reports), alongside county-level private-school enrollment trends (NCES Private School Universe Survey), to check whether a real shift is happening or not — where verified data exists.
